10 ways to spend quality time with your family...
- Schedule one television-free night to talk with your children about how their day was or new things they’ve learned.
- Every night read a portion of a story with your child.
- Take up a hobby together and play at it for an hour per week.
- After dinner enjoy a bike ride around the block or along a trail together.
- Teach your children a new fun skill such as baking or sewing.
- During the season, coach a little league soccer, t-ball, or football team.
- Take a family field trip every month to explore new places such as the local museum, a play or even to the playground.
- During the weekends enjoy board games and card games. They provide hours of fun, and can be great mood boosters on cold and rainy days.
- Help them with their homework every night. Lending support and encouragement can boost spirits when children are feeling frustrated.
- Wake up earlier. Get up 30 minutes earlier so you can spend extra time with your kids. Provide words of encouragement for the coming day.
