In Duval and Nassau counties there are approximately 1,500 children living in out of home care due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Many of these children are currently waiting to be adopted by a loving family. Children available for adoption are often over the age of 10; part of a sibling group or have medical/mental health needs.
