FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YULEE, Fla. (Dec 8, 2022) – The owners of Cape House in Amelia Island are using their business to uplift children in foster care and other causes close to their hearts this holiday season.

Every week this month, a portion of the home and hospitality store’s sales will be donated to a different charity chosen by one of the co-owners. From Saturday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 16, the store’s sales will benefit Family Support Services Nassau County. It’s part of Cape House’s new Give Back program, an initiative designed to foster relationships in the community and support organizations making a difference in peoples’ lives, said co-owner Lauren Jones. “At Cape House, we believe people and relationships are our greatest gift, responsibility, and opportunity,” according to Jones.

Jones said Family Support Services is her charity of choice because she’s always had “a heartbeat for foster care and adoption” – she and husband Lance Jones, also a co-owner at Cape House, adopted their daughter and founded a foster closet at their church. Their daughter’s birth mother was also a former foster youth with Family Support Services, which is how they first connected with the agency.

Rather than a set percentage from each week of sales, the Joneses and their fellow co-owners – friends Wes Hinton and Tiffany Hinton – agreed to a minimum donation of $250 to each of their respective charities. Shoppers can also make a dedicated donation to Family Support Services at the register during the week.

“We are very excited and thankful that Cape House chose Family Support Services to receive donations in their first-ever Give Back program,” said Lisa Rozier, FSS’ Education and Community Specialist in Nassau County. “Backing like this helps us provide the extra support our children and families need to have a happy holiday.”
