First Coast News visited Threads of Resilience, the new community boutique at the Center of Hope at Emmett Reed Community Center, on opening day and spoke with Executive Director Jada Hunter about why the shopping experience is so important to the 32209 community.

“The boutique offers adult professional clothes, items for children and infants, hygiene products and diapers free of cost. It also has a safe space for expecting parents to spend time in a comfortable environment with their children. …

“The more we invest, the more we support, and the more we work alongside with our parents and our residents in our community, that they now have the resiliency and they now have what they need and the resources that they need to not even fall into that category,” said Hunter.”
